As part of the Belgrade School of Geopolitics, on 11 May, Dr. Dušan Proroković delivered a lecture focusing on the German geopolitical school and the development of German tellurocracy throughout different historical periods. During the lecture, participants explored the process of German unification and the formation of German "belated nationalism", as well as the emergence of the continental geopolitical paradigm that shaped German strategic thinking during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Particular attention was devoted to the concepts of Mitteleuropa, eastward expansion, and the relationship between land and maritime power in the European geopolitical space. The lecture also addressed the Cold War period, German economic dominance in Europe, and contemporary geopolitical developments related to Ukraine and the concept of the Intermarium. Through a historical and geopolitical perspective, participants gained a deeper understanding of the continuity of German geopolitical thought and its relevance to contemporary international relations.
