The Balkan Geopolitical Knot

Within the Belgrade School of Geopolitics, organized by the Center for Geopolitical Research (CeGI), the second lecture titled “The Balkan Geopolitical Knot” was held and delivered by Prof. Dr. Milomir Stepić.

During the lecture, participants had the opportunity to gain insight into the geopolitical significance of the Balkans as a space where different civilizational, strategic, and interest vectors of major powers intersect. Special attention was dedicated to the specificities of the Balkan geopolitical position, the role of communication corridors, and the importance of the Balkans in broader Eurasian relations.

Through an analysis of historical and contemporary geopolitical processes, the lecture highlighted the complexity of the Balkan region as one of the most sensitive and dynamic geopolitical crossroads in Europe.

The Belgrade School of Geopolitics continues with the aim of bringing key geopolitical concepts closer to its participants and enabling a deeper understanding of contemporary international relations.
