Purpose

The existence and work of CGR are focused on the study of geopolitical phenomena and processes in the world, particularly in the Balkans. Geopolitics, previously marginalized as a way of thinking and a science, has been painstakingly renewed in our region during the dissolution of SFRY; on the global level, although never neglected in practice, it has experienced a true revival with the multipolarization of the order and the escalation of armed conflicts worldwide.

In this context, objective understanding, study, and explanation of not only recent events but also their causes and consequences, as well as prediction of further dynamic flows and transformations, are of great, often vital importance.

Education and Development

Starting Point

The guiding idea of CGR is to gather recognized experts in the field of geopolitics in the broadest sense – primarily scientists, but also diplomats, businesspeople, officers, journalists, and cultural workers… – in order to objectively analyze the reality of increasingly fierce competition for spatial control in both quantitative and qualitative terms.

The aim of CGR is to attract all those interested in geopolitics, especially young people, to expand their education with the missing geopolitical knowledge and thus contribute to creating a new national elite that will be ready to face all challenges in the turbulent times ahead.

Target Group

The target group consists of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of geography, history, political science, law, economics, sociology, security, and military and police academies from state and private faculties and vocational studies, as well as young journalists, civil servants, and portal editors…

Activities

CGR's work is based on external collaborators and their participation in thematic lectures, scientific conferences, round tables, research projects, ad hoc debates, media appearances, and digital podcast series…

CGR has its own publishing activity, which includes the publication of primarily scientific monographs and collections, strictly taking into account the quality of works and the competence of authors.

One of CGR's key activities is organizing seminars and schools of geopolitics, of a modern, interactive nature. The working method is office-based, and sometimes combined (office and field), and ultimately implies that participants receive a certificate of successful completion.
